Awesome Nes-Styled Retro Game, go check it out!. Would become best dude again.11/10. It's pretty fun, looks and sounds like an authentic 8-bit game but it's pretty damn easy. But for the price I'd still recommend for any fans of the good ol' NES. This is the best dollar I have ever spent. This game will provide you with hours of fun.. This game captures the 8-bit style really well. A basic game even to 8-bit standards but quite enjoyable nonetheless. It's a run and gun side scroller without enemy pop-in.Pros: Authentic 8-bit vibe, smooth gameplay, satisfying weapons, nice game flow and diverse levels.Cons: 5 enemies being recycled for the entire game, short (~60 min), not challenging (including boss fights).Pick this up if you are looking for some basic 8-bit nostalgia but look elsewhere if you want challenging gameplay.. This game knows what it wants to be, strips itself down to the bare essentials, and provides a concrete experience. Some indie games skimp on the difficulty, preferring to woo you with your nostalgia, but I can faithfully say that this title offers a genuine challenge. You will die, a lot. There's 8 levels in all and each one has a different theme with different environments and hazards unique to it, each with a boss at the end. The graphics are crisp and the controls are tight, and the shooting feels on point.Plenty to like and not much to criticize, especially for 99 cents.. At first glance, Alien Splatter Redux may look like a generic pseudo-retro action-platformer. But fortnately, it isn't. Like Oniken and Odallus: The Dark Call, Alien Splatter Redux is a simple, yet well executed game that would feel at home on the Famicom in the late 80's. I would call it a mix of Contra, Solbrain/Shatterhand and Gun-Dec/Vice: Project Doom, with the eventual nod to Ninja Gaiden 2 and Mega Man 2. For the price, the game is a steal, and if you enjoy 8-bit action-platformers, do yourself a favor and play this game.. Love these new retro games this game is all run and gun shoot em up bang bang!! yeaaaahhhhh!!!. I grew up with old 8-bit, NES platformers and this game really hits home for me. I think that the developer(s) did a knockout job in recreating the atmosphere and feel of games from my childhood with this little gem, complete with a satirically simplified story, spot-on controls, and a cheesy but fun sci-fi theme. Aliens have invaded and demanded that we surrender all of our "base" to them or they will destroy us. But not to worry, because the U.S. government is going to send an entire, joint operations assault against them complete with special forces, fleets of aircraft and navy vessels, nuclear mi......err.....wait, actually, they are sending only one guy against them. But fortunately, they are sending their "best dude" to save the world. These alien invaders are total pushovers however. Nevermind the fact that they are pink, they only come in about 4 varieties, (excluding bosses) are lousy shots, and only take a few hits to kill. But they have one terrible strength that threatens all of mankind. They are masters of always strategically situating themselves in the most God-awful moving platform areas in existence and staying there. With this deadly skill, they intend to enslave us and take over the world. Can you, the "best dude" overcome their scheme and rescue all of humanity? This was such a fun game. The graphics are designed to emulate the look and feel of older NES titles with a bonus stage that looks like a game boy level. There is a health bar, but to be honest, I don't think that I ever died once from running out of health. You will almost always die from falling off of a pit. Stage 4 and 6 are in my opinion the hardest stages. I hope that you enjoy this game as much as I did and thank you for reading my review. Also, thank you to the developers for making such a fun and inexpensive game for me to enjoy.
